Local house builder, Rippon Homes has recently welcomed a new apprentice to its head office in Mansfield Woodhouse.
Emily Wilson (19) has started on the career ladder as a Customer Service apprentice after recently finishing college, where she studied Art and Design.
Eager to concentrate on her new path in the house building industry, Emily is working towards her NVQ Level 2 in Customer Services, which she hopes to complete in 2016.
Emily, who lives in Mansfield Woodhouse, said: “I get the best of both worlds working here as I'm able to study for my NVQ as well as learning practical, hands-on experience as a receptionist.
“Although I love art and enjoyed studying this at college, it wasn't something I wanted to pursue a career in, so when I came across the apprenticeship at Rippon I knew this was the right career path for me.
“I'm really pleased to have been successful in this new role and I'm enjoying the new experiences and challenges that it brings.
“I have taken on new responsibilities and I love the diversity of the job. I really enjoy talking to customers on the phone and helping other members of staff.
“I'm looking forward to a promising future with Rippon Homes and hope to continue progressing within the company.”
Ian Dyke, Managing Director at Rippon Homes said: “We are delighted to welcome Emily to the team and we believe she'll have a positive impact on the company.
“Earlier this year we celebrated 40 years of apprenticeships which demonstrates our dedication to giving young local people the opportunity of learning, developing and progressing within our organisation.
“Our apprenticeships are a vital way of providing experience of the workplace whilst our employees, such as Emily can continue to study for qualifications.”
