More homes will be delivered to Rochford in Essex as Bellway is granted planning permission to build 109 homes off Hall Road. Construction work for Eastbury Park will begin in June, expanding the Elizabeth Gardens development by Ashberry Homes that forms phase one of the 9.6-hectare site, providing 600 new homes overall for the commuter town. Rochford, known for its beautiful Essex countryside, is popular for keen cyclists and house prices are 17% higher than the previous year according to online estate agents, Rightmove, proving that the area is on the up in terms of property investment.

Bellway Homes will develop two, three, four and five-bedroom houses constructing associated roads, paths, driveways, car parking, landscaping and public open spaces. The homes between two and three storeys high will be varied in their appearance and fit into seven-character areas to include; a central area and square to act as a landmark feature, boulevards with tree-lined streets, short straight streets giving direct views of the surrounding landscape and detached homes in landscaped plots along the Hall Road frontage area.

Peter Knights, Managing Director of Bellway Homes comments: “We are excited to be developing homes in the semi-rural town of Rochford providing what will bring a new gateway to the town and a brand-new community.

“This site, already well established, was formerly farmland, so our development will provide much needed housing to the area and we will ensure the style of homes fit into their immediate surroundings, which includes great outdoor opportunities, a location that is ripe for investment and will be great for families, young professionals and downsizers.”

Future plans include a possible extra 198 homes on the site. Bellway will ensure the homes are built to Lifetime Homes Standard, which means they will be built with 16 design criteria, intended to make homes easily adaptable for lifetime use at a minimum cost. For example, homes will have conveniently close car parking and houses will be capable of being retrofitted with stairs lifts.

The development is located within a leafy location, just half a mile from the town centre, while also situated just five miles from the popular coastal resort of Southend-on-Sea, offering residents the best of both worlds and plenty of family attractions. Rochford itself is surrounded by acres of managed green space, including the idyllic Cherry Orchard Country Park in the Roach Valley, encompassing lush grassland and flourishing woodland. It will also include new cycle ways and pedestrian pathways while retaining existing bridleways.

The homes would be well-located to benefit from the area's amenities including a number of small boutiques and independents can be found in Rochford town centre, while Southend is home to two shopping centres boasting a variety of well-known retail stores. Rochford's farmers' market is held once a month, and Southend market takes place every Thursday, with the farmer's market taking place twice a month.

The area is home to a number of with well-regarded primary and secondary schools in Rochford, Southend, and the surrounding villages, notably Rochford Primary and Nursery School, St Teresa's Catholic Primary School, Hawkwell, The King Redmunds School, and Greensward Academy. For older pupils, the area offers Southend High School for Girls, Southend High School for Boys, Westcliff High School for Boys Academy and Westcliff High School for Girls which are all located approximately 10 minutes' drive from home.

For residents looking to commute, Rochford Railway Station is only a 10-minute walk from home, with regular services to London Liverpool Street with a journey time of approximately 50 minutes. The major roads in the area include the A127, which intersects with the A12 and M25 providing a connection into London, and the A13 from Shoeburyness also into London city. Jet setters can reach Southend Airport in less than five minutes by train, with flights operating to many cities in Europe.
