Holiday-lovers in Essex will soon benefit from frequent flights to more sun-filled destinations from London Southend Airport, as a new partnership has been announced with Air Malta[1]. The joint venture will introduce routes to Malta, Sardinia and Sicily from May 2018, making more of the Mediterranean accessible for travellers to explore. Home buyers looking to enjoy stress-free and convenient travel will benefit from Bellway's development at Ekco Park in Southend-on-Sea, only a five-minute drive from Southend Airport.

The popular development only has one two-bedroom house and one three-bedroom house remaining, with modern kitchens and bathrooms, quality fittings, gardens, garages and parking. The final phase of homes at Ekco Park will also include 18 apartments, with six already released and a further 12 set to follow later this year across a further two buildings. Each apartment will feature contemporary kitchens with integrated appliances, open-plan living spaces and en suite shower rooms. Open spaces are also designed into the layout of the site for all residents to enjoy.

Annette Hurst, Sales and Marketing Director at Bellway Essex comments: “Home buyers looking to travel frequently really benefit from living close to an airport with the ease of accessibility. The expansion of routes from Southend Airport will create further choice for holiday-goers and with people doing business in these areas, our Ekco Park residents can really make the most of living on the door step.

“To help first and second-time buyers secure a new home, Help to Buy is also available on selected properties at Ekco Park, as well as our popular Express Mover scheme to make the process as easy as possible for purchasers.”

As a traditional seaside town, Southend is famous for its fish and chips, seafood and ice cream, as well as its variety of international cuisine, represented among the town's restaurants, wine bars and pubs. Southend town centre also delivers a variety of shops along and around High Street, within The Victoria Shopping Centre, just over a mile from the development, and The Royals Shopping Centre, less than three miles away. A weekly market and a twice monthly farmer's market also takes place on the High Street, offering lots of fresh produce and unique gifts.

Residents at Ekco Park can enjoy living close to the sandy beaches and Southend Pier, the longest leisure pier in the world. Other attractions in the area include Adventure Island Family Fun Park, Sea Life Adventure Aquarium, and the Kursaal bowling alley and amusement arcade. For activities closer by, Priory Park is a few minutes' walk from the development, with 45 acres of gardens, bowling greens, tennis and basketball courts, and a children's playground.

For commuters travelling to London, Prittlewell Station is just a ten-minute walk away from the development, which provides frequent services to Southend Victoria in just four minutes, running up to four times an hour. Direct trains leave up to six times an hour from Southend Victoria to London Liverpool Street, completing the journey in less than an hour.

Ideal for families, the new homes in Southend are close to several well-regarded primary and secondary schools, as well as nurseries for younger children. Further education providers are available for A-level students.

The two-bedroom home at Ekco Park is priced at £292,995, and the three-bedroom home is priced at £349,995. Prices start from £199,995 for a one-bedroom apartment and £229,995 for a two-bedroom apartment. For more information please visit www.bellway.co.uk or call the sales team on 01702 351 537.
