Mickle Hill

Retirement village Mickle Hill in Pickering, North Yorkshire recently welcomed locals and existing residents to celebrate the launch of its second phase of properties. Adding 37 modern bungalows to the already existing residences; Mickle Hill now features a mixture of 168 one and two bedroom apartments as well as spaciously designed bungalows. Joining the celebration to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony were local Councillor John Stott, resident Joy Parry, who was present for the first ever dig at Mickle Hill, and Lyth Watson of Rangeford Holdings, the developer behind Mickle Hill.

Lyth Watson of Rangeford Holdings comments: “It's been a fantastic event and we'd like to thank the local community for joining our celebration. When we first launched Mickle Hill, it was our objective to create a local lifestyle village for the over-60s that emphasises North Yorkshire's community spirit. The launch of phase two is a step forward to achieve exactly that. Our team and existing residents are looking forward to welcoming new residents into the community.”

Dormer bungalows boast a total floor space of 1038 sq ft, whilst single storeys measure approx. 722 sqft. The properties feature a modern, yet functional interior design. Plug sockets are at waist height, the heating can be adjusted easily from room to room, and the modern en-suite shower wet rooms have a pull cord for emergencies.  Large, double-glazed windows make the most of the natural daylight and open up to private patios, perfect for entertaining guests or to relax.

New residents can take immediate advantage of the fully established onsite amenities. The village's entertainment hub, called the 'Pavilion', boasts a cinema, hair and beauty salon, gym, spa, library, convenience shop and café bistro, whilst the adjacent landscaped gardens with outdoor seating embrace the natural surroundings. Providing ample car parking, lifts to all floors and wheelchair access, the Pavilion is well-equipped to welcome visitors and residents alike.

To ensure all resident needs are catered for, Rangeford Holdings has teamed up with national older person's charity MHA, which provides a wellbeing service.  Those who might need extra help with household chores such as cooking, cleaning and shopping, or assistance with dressing and bathing are able to access the support when they need it.  Dedicated to making residents' lives easier, MHA's friendly team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

All properties at Mickle Hill come with a National House Building Council guarantee, which covers against build defects for 10 years, giving residents reassurance that their home is protected. Prices start from £199,950 for apartments, whilst single storey bungalows start from £275,000 and dormer bungalows from £330,000.

Interested buyers who were unable to attend the launch event but want to find out more, can take advantage of the newly opened show bungalow. To find out more or to arrange a meeting with Mickle Hill's friendly sales team, please visit www.micklehill.co.uk or call 01751 245000.
