Properties at Legal & General Homes' newest development, Buckler's Park, will soon be available to view for the first time at a launch event for the opening of four new show homes taking place on Saturday 14 July 2018.

Each of the units showcases one of the four unique interior finishes available at Buckler's Park, available for customers to choose at no extra cost. Even the most design-savvy buyer can feel overwhelmed by the number of choices to make when buying a home – these options will help remove some of the uncertainty that comes with being faced with a vast array of colours and finishes while offering a carefully curated selection from design and interior experts.

Legal & General Homes worked closely with Andrew Henry Interiors to develop the four distinct choices. “People really worry about getting it wrong. To help, my team has created four colour palettes that still give buyers the opportunity to make their home truly individual, starting from an underlying design which has been created by people whose passion is working with colour and making colour work in the home,” says Director Andrew Henry.

Ten distinct styles of house and a range of apartment layouts are available at Buckler's Park, giving buyers at every stage of their lives a choice of two, three and four-bedroom homes. Special attention has been paid to the balance of spaces – bedrooms are designed to a practical size; living spaces are optimised to address how people really use their homes and storage is incorporated throughout. Eight of the ten designs are on sale in Woodland Edge, the first phase, and the show homes give prospective buyers a chance to see four of these designs for themselves:

  • The Langley: a two-bedroom home with a large bathroom, en suite to the master bedroom and WC on the ground floor alongside a kitchen and separate living and dining room which opens to the rear garden.
  • The Drayton: a contemporary two-storey, three-bedroom home with an open-plan kitchen / dining area, separate living room and cloakroom / WC; upstairs are three bedrooms (one en suite, and two with generous fitted wardrobes).
  • The Ealing: a three-storey town house with separate kitchen and living areas, each large enough to accommodate dining space giving buyers the flexibility to structure their homes to best suit to them. A study / nursery, large private balconies off the master bedroom and a private back garden make these perfect for busy families.
  • The Harlington: a spacious home over three storeys, offering four bedrooms – the master bedroom opening out onto a private terrace on the second floor, a study / nursery, kitchen / dining room with a separate utility and a generous, light-filled living area which features roof lights and bi-fold doors opening to the rear garden.

Alongside Andrew Henry Interiors, which as well as creating the four colour palettes available at Buckler's Park has also fitted out the Ealing and Harlington show homes, Legal & General Homes has also worked with Alexander James Interior Design on the Langley and Drayton show units.

All homes are built to London Design Standards, meaning they are up to 10% larger than other new homes in the area. Each is built to a high-standard specification and there are no hidden costs – alongside the design options, appliances, flooring and a Hive smart thermostat are all included in the price.

Leafy surroundings and cultivating community

The current phase, Woodland Edge, sits alongside Buckler's Country Park – a new 100-acre space with woods, ponds and pathways for residents to relax, children to play and wildlife to flourish.

Set across more than 250 acres in leafy Crowthorne in Berkshire, Buckler's Park will have a range of amenities including shops; a community centre with spaces for workshops, classes and meetings; tennis courts; a care home and a new site for Crowthorne Church of England Primary School (rated outstanding by Ofsted). The focal point will be the Community Garden, where residents can grow food on allotments, tend to community beehives and make use of shared tool sheds and compost bins.

John Allan, Managing Director at Legal & General Homes, says: “We've had a fantastic response to Buckler's Park since we launched in January and are anticipating huge interest once the public has a chance to see the homes in person. We can't wait to welcome prospective buyers through our doors and show them the real product and help find the perfect home for them.”

Once complete, Buckler's Park will offer 1,000 high-quality, contemporary homes. The development is surrounded by the vibrant centres of Bracknell, Reading and Wokingham and the historic hubs of Sandhurst, Ascot and Windsor. Crowthorne railway station is only a five-minute drive away and has links to London Paddington in less than an hour, making it ideal for both locals and commuters.

Prices at the Woodland Edge start at £245,000. The launch event will take place the Buckler's Park Visitors Centre, where prospective buyers can find out more about the homes, view interior choices and see the show homes. The centre is open daily from 10.00am to 5.30pm and is located at Buckler's Park, Crowthorne, Berkshire, just off Old Wokingham Road (sat nav postcode RG45 6LL).  High demand is anticipated so interested buyers are encouraged to book an appointment to see the homes for themselves. About Legal & General Homes

Legal & General Homes is driven by its mission to create beautiful, vibrant, sustainable communities where people can thrive. It is passionately committed to providing first-class customer service and its Customer Service Charter guarantees transparency and regular communication to ensure a buying process that's as stress-free as possible.

Legal & General Homes builds high-quality homes for people across a range of life stages. It is the first housebuilder to embed the principle of social value into its business as part of its commitment to making a positive contribution to the local communities it joins.

Legal & General Homes is the housebuilding arm of Legal & General Capital (LGC), the early-stage investment arm of Legal & General Group. Investing from Legal & General's principal balance sheet, LGC's purpose is to generate long-term shareholder value by injecting new capital into key sectors where there has been a shortage of investment and innovation, including housing.

Legal & General in Housing

A natural evolution and fit for its multi-tenure housing investment strategy, Legal & General has been involved in supply side housing activities for nearly 20 years. These include:

  • Bringing housing back to the centre of the UK's cities through large scale regeneration, such as Salford, Plymouth, Liverpool, Bracknell, Newcastle and Canning Town
  • Ownership of house builder CALA Homes, which is on track to deliver an annual capacity of 2,500 units and revenue of around £1bn in 2020, and believes it has the capability to build in excess of 3,000 units per annum thereafter. CALA has seen revenues grow from £241m in 2013 to £748m in 2017.
  • Legal & General's total investment capability for the Build to Rent (BTR) sector currently stands at circa £1.5bn. It has secured around 2,000 homes under construction or in planning, with sites in Bristol, Edinburgh, Salford, Bath, Brighton, Leeds and Walthamstow, with the aim to have 6,000 in planning, development or operation by the end of 2019
  • Delivering its first three new housing communities, Legal & General's housebuilding arm, Legal & General Homes, is bringing forward a housing pipeline of over 3,000 new homes. These include a 78-acre site in Shrivenham, Oxfordshire with outline planning for 515 new homes, building 1,000 new homes on its 250 acre site in Crowthorne, Berkshire, called Buckler's Park, and 1,500 new homes at its 272 acre site in Finchampstead, also in Berkshire
  • Revolutionising the construction industry through its modular housing factory in Leeds, it will deliver highly-sustainable precision-engineered homes. The homes are built using modern manufacturing techniques, in a precision engineering manufacturing environment, on a moving assembly line, which will be constructed and fitted out in the factory before delivery to site
  • Providing later living accommodation through Inspired Villages Group, a best in class operator and developer of later living accommodation, established by Legal and General in 2017. Inspired Villages Group's development portfolio currently has around 1,000 homes
  • Launching Legal & General Affordable Homes, a new wholly-owned affordable housing provider which it is establishing through a leading development and management platform.

It is also a significant investor in student accommodation, having invested £1.5bn to date in this sector. This holistic approach provides Legal & General with the mechanisms to deliver high quality returns throughout market cycles by pivoting investment to where the need is greatest. A further example would be Legal & General's £40million investment in Thames Valley Housing Association which focused on providing high quality key worker accommodation for Imperial College NHS Trust and St George's Healthcare NHS Trust.

Legal & General Capital

Legal & General Capital (LGC) is the principal investment arm of Legal & General Group.
