Leggett Immobilier - The French Estate Agents

Leggett Immobiler – voted Best Estate Ageny in France 5 years running – in association with Guest Apartment Services Paris – specialist in renting exceptional apartments in the heart of the capital – have launched their new office in Paris.

Ile St Louis came alive this weekend as Leggett Immobilier and Guest Apartment Services launched their new Paris offices in style, formalizing their desire to bring together their expertise of over 20 years in Real Estate. The opening was undertaken by French MP Pacome Rupin who represents Paris in the French National Assembley.

After the opening presentations introducing Leggett Immobilier and Guest Apartment Services operations, given by the organisations presidents Trevor Leggett and Christophe Chastel, guests were able to talk to Trevor Leggett and his Sales team on the effect that Brexit is having on demand from UK buyers as well as on the general state of the property market in Paris and France as a whole (seperate press release attached).

The highlight of the opening was a talk on the history of Ile Saint Louis, given by Mr Frederic Vitoux of « Academie Francaise » ; This distinguished expert emphasized how over time this renowned place of French heritage has welcomed both French and foreign personalities and celebrities including Marie Curie, Charles Baudelaire, Camille Claudel. He also recalled that the island was a real "safe haven" for foreigners during various historical troubles including the Prince of Poland, Adam Jerzy Czartoryski, head of the Polish government in 1831 found shelter there. Prince Adam and his wife received many poets, writers, bankers, politicians and musicians, including Chopin to their private mansion during this time. The mansion was located at the top of the island and close to the Leggett Immobilier and Guest Apartment Services Agency

The very informative speech of Mr. F. Vitoux was followed by a once in a lifetime tour of the 17th century Hotel Lauzun, on the banks of the Seine. This is one of the few properties to retain its authentic gilded interiors from the reign of Louis XIV. This remarkable building nicknamed "the Little Versailles" has notably hosted the Royal Family of England during official trips.

Mr Raymond Boulhares, writer, was present and honored us with the generous offer of a signed copy of his book "Hôtel de Lauzun" to anyone interested.

Clients and friends had been invited from both France and the UK and a surprise guest was TV & Film star Jamel Debbouze with his wife Melissa. They were both so kind and it was  thoughtful of them to visit us !

In the evening, VIP guests were treated to a superb wine tasting organised by Samuel Legros from the Domaine Bachey Legros in Burgundy.

Leggett hand picked Ile St Louis for their home in Paris as it attracts many international buyers and is particularly popular with Americans

This was the first in a series of high profile offices that Leggett plan to open this year, with Bordeaux and Annecy following shortly.

The Financial Times recognised Leggett Immobilier as one of the Top Ten fastest growing property consultancies in Europe and this expansion will help underline this status.

Leggett will also be opening two other offices in SW France this summer, in Chalus and Verteillac.   The Leggett Corporate & Commercial team also took office space in Pont Street, London earlier this year.

Trevor Leggett, Chairman of Leggett Immobilier, comments:

"Our business has grown enormously over the last few years and we now have over 500 agents across France.  These new offices will help support our network and, most importantly, improve the service offering we give to our customers.

Leggett was born in SW France but we are now a truly national firm with 16,000 listings across the country. Our goal is to double this number within the next three years."
