Five-star housebuilder Barratt Homes Manchester recently teamed up with Bridge Community Wellness Gardens in Ellesmere Port to help improve their facilities.

Bridge Wellness Gardens is a registered charity based in Ellesmere Port and is a working commercial horticulture farm that brings people together from all parts of the local community and offers a helping hand to those who need it.

The wellness gardens and farm aim to provide a therapeutic environment for people living with mental health conditions as well as those with physical and learning disabilities. Work experience is also available for children and young people who are interested to learning about horticulture and business skills.

Barratt Manchester contributed manual labour worth almost £9,000 which helped to improve the entrance of the farm, as part of the Barratt Legacy scheme.

Over the past year, the Legacy scheme has helped community groups across the North West to improve facilities and activities in local areas.

Neil Goodwin, MD for Barratt Homes Manchester said, “It has been a pleasure working with Bridge Wellness Gardens to improve the appearance of their enterprise.

”The work that is carried out here will encourage positive behaviour in young people in the area and will provide valuable life skills for all who attend.”

Francis Ball, Chairman at Bridge Wellness Gardens said, “Barratt Homes has done a wonderful job in creating our entrance off Mill Lane to such a high standard.  First impressions are important and all our visitors now have a very positive impression of us as they enter our farm.

“We can now confidently invite more clients/volunteers coping with mental health and learning difficulties to come and spend time at Bridge Wellness Gardens.  Thank you, Barratt Homes for helping us to “grow better lives”.
