A Barratt Homes Site Manager has won a prestigious award in a national competition to find the best-run building sites in Britain.

Craig Hancock (48) achieved a Seal of Excellence award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) for managing the College Gardens development site in his hometown of Ellesmere Port.

Craig is no stranger to being part of award winning building sites, he starting working with the Barratt group in 1987 as a bricklayer and worked on many NHBC award winning developments during this time.

In 2012, Craig progressed and became an Assistant Site Manager, a year later in 2013, he was promoted to Site Manager. College Gardens is Craig's second site, which he took the reins of in 2017.

Craig described how it felt to win a Seal of Excellence for his work at College Gardens, he said, “I felt elated, this is my first award so I didn't expect to achieve a Seal of Excellence! Knowing that I'm contributing to handing over a higher standard of home to our customers is really satisfying.

“It's great being part of a five star homebuilder, but knowing you're a contributing factor to that fantastic quality is something else. It's a collaborative effort; every single member of the team at College Gardens has done an amazing job.”

The development on Sutton Way will provide 140 new homes in Cheshire. There are two and three bedroom houses for sale at the development, ranging in prices from £137,995 to £179,995.
