Northwood Chester has completed on the acquisition of Humphreys of Chester, one of the most reputable and well-established estate agencies in the area.
Jim Cameron, who co-owns Northwood Chester with his wife Helen, says: “Northwood Chester has been a family-run business for the past 18 years, and we believe that this acquisition will enable us to expand our business and become the local market leader in sales and lettings.”
“Originally established in 1994, Humphreys of Chester is well known locally because of its fantastic reputation as a family-run business with an extremely strong brand,” says Helen. “Northwood Chester is also a family-run business and our daughter Katie is Operations Manager. We are absolutely delighted to have completed on this deal, as we live locally and know the Chester market extremely well.
“Humphreys of Chester will continue to operate under its own brand name. We are also really pleased that 14 of the current members of staff, many of whom have years of experience, will be staying with us.
“Clients can be reassured that if they are currently buying or renting a property through Humphreys of Chester, this will continue to be the case. We have bought this very strong brand, and will continue to run it as the family-owned business that it was initially set up as 25 years ago.”
Speaking of this latest acquisition, Northwood MD, Phil Gee, said: “I am absolutely delighted for Helen and Jim, who are extremely hard working and great ambassadors for the Northwood brand. I honestly believe that this is one of the most exciting acquisitions that Northwood has made. It has added 266 managed properties to their portfolio, as well as a strong sales pipeline, and combining these businesses will make them the number one agent in the Chester area.
“It has always been part of Northwood's strength to look at opportunities to grow our business. This exciting acquisition was only possible thanks to the very strong relationship that we have had for some time with SDL Group which owned Humphreys of Chester. Northwood and SDL will continue to work together on a number of property services initiatives.
“We wish everyone concerned great success for the future.”
