The shortlist for the Property Press Awards 2018 has been announced, with a record-breaking 88 top journalists featured across 20 categories (shortlist below).
Winners of the prestigious awards will be revealed at a dazzling champagne reception on 21 May at RSA House, London.
This year's heatedly contested categories include Newcomer of the Year sponsored by Strutt and Parker, Consumer Mortgage Journalist of the Year sponsored by Skipton Building Society, Scoop of the Year sponsored by Benham and Reeves and Property Business Journalist of the Year sponsored by flatfair.
Judges for the Property Press Awards 2019 include 43 industry experts and senior property executives, media editors and industry personalities. Almost half the judges are new to this year's awards, with up to three judges determining the winners of each trophy.
Last year's PPAs were held at City Hall, with 60 of the UK's top journalists reaching the shortlist. The ceremony attracted almost 200 people, including sponsors, judges and PR professionals, with Ruth Bloomfield scooping the prestigious Property Journalist of the Year title at the evening's climax.
Said Property4Media's CEO Henry Hemming: "Congratulations to those journalists who've made it through to the shortlist, and commiserations to those pipped at the post. Once again their combined output has dazzled our judges. We look forward to welcoming everyone – and revealing the winners - on 21 May."
Up to three judges will determine the winners of each of the awards. As with last year, almost half the judges are new to this year's awards and existing judges will be allocated new categories to preside over.
The outstanding panel of PPA judges comprises top professionals from the media, trade bodies, professional services and large property corporations. The full list of judges is available at www.propertypressawards.com/judges.html.
Limited tickets are now available for the evening through Property4Media.
