David Wilson Homes North West scrummed together to donate £500 towards a Rugby Union Football Club in Northwich.

Northwich Rugby Union Football Club (NRUFC), started in 1964 and based in Northwich, has eight teams in total, including five senior teams, a junior team and two mini teams.

The money will go towards a new kit for the Northwich RUFC SuperStars now that David Wilson Homes is the team's main sponsor. The SuperStars consist of children between the ages of five and 11.

The donation was made through the housebuilder's Our Space Your Place initiative which aims to give back to communities surrounding its developments.

Eddy Naylor, Northwich RUFC SuperStars Manager, said, “Without the sponsorship from David Wilson Homes, initiatives like Northwich RUFC SuperStars wouldn't go ahead.

“We are committed at Northwich RUFC SuperStars to provide opportunity for all children, regardless of financial background or social economic status.

“The sponsorship from David Wilson Homes will continue to allow us to provide free rugby sessions for the children. From all of us at Northwich RUFC, we would like to give David Wilson Homes a massive thank you!”

David Wilson Homes is currently building homes nearby to the club at Winnington Village and a number of children on the team have families living at the development.
