Wadswick Green, the modern and popular lifestyle village for the over 60s in Corsham, Wiltshire has unveiled its new 3 bedroom showhome for its latest phase Almond Close. Featuring 45 one, two and three bedroom apartments, the properties are ready to move into, with the first residents having moved in April 2019. The new apartments embrace the ethos of Wadswick Green and its residents, who are semi or fully retired and want to live an activity-rich life in a friendly community.
Commenting on the design concept for the new three bedroom show apartment Rebekah Jones, Owner of Ombre Interior Design stated, “The face of senior living is changing and I very much wanted to reflect that within the interior. It was essential to demonstrate that for those who may be downsizing, bijou living is by no means limiting in terms of style, luxury and living space. Almond Close apartments benefit from great expanses of floor to ceiling glass and modern fixtures throughout which really do provide homeowners with a superb blank canvas on which to make their mark.
“My inspiration for the interior was life itself and I wanted the choice of furniture to reflect vibrancy, diversity and the natural passing of time. Each space has a sense of uniqueness whilst maintaining a thread of familiarity. On first impressions, the main living space has a rather modern feel to it with pops of colour and texture, but when you look more closely it's a homage to the past with a retro vibe which meets the orient in places. This is carried through to the study, which becomes an extension of this area and the bedrooms beyond are both unique and bold with the use of rich tones and finishes. The guest bedroom takes you on a whistle stop tour of the Far East and the master suite, with it's simple yet striking colour palette, wouldn't feel out of place in any luxury hotel.
“The Almond Close new showhome demonstrates that retirement living doesn't have to be about endless corridors, poor layouts and bland interiors – Wadswick Green is testament to that and I feel this latest project really demonstrates what can be achieved with a great use of colour, beautifully considered furniture pieces and lashings of personality”.
Almond Close apartments boast an open-plan layout that creates an inviting and comfortable atmosphere, which have large picture windows that lead onto balconies with views of the courtyard and countryside beyond. Similar to the completed Courtyard and The Pavilion Apartments, the homes at Almond Close feature spacious kitchens with engineered, high-quality hardwood flooring and the latest Neff appliances.
Owners also benefit from modern bathrooms including walk-in showers, luxury taps and fittings. Thorough insulation caters for peace and quiet and supports the energy efficient underfloor heating, whilst wide entrances, and double-glazed windows provide a bright and friendly feel. For residents that need that extra little help, all apartments are discreetly equipped with pull cords and residents are entitled to a safety pendant that can be worn.
Set over 25 acres in the rolling Wiltshire countryside, on the site of the former HMS Royal Arthur Naval College that Prince Philip attended, Wadswick Green is a modern village with ancient roots.
New residents of Almond Close can take immediate advantage of the village's extensive amenities including a swimming pool with Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, gym, spa and hair salon. In addition, the retirement village is home to the highly rated Greenhouse restaurant, which has proven popular with residents and the Wiltshire community alike. To embrace the social aspect of community living, residents have also created regular hobby groups such as book clubs and walking groups whilst Wadswick Green also arranges regular events and days out.
Almond Close apartments start from £335,500
