A budding Instagram community of new build homeowners has become a fabulous source of interior design inspiration for a resident at Barratt Homes' Silk Waters Green development in Macclesfield.

Miranda Davis (38) was on the lookout for décor ideas for her newly purchased home when she discovered an abundance of new build Instagrammers, sharing their own home's interior design and tips in the hopes of inspiring other property seekers.

The popular new-build Instagram blogs feature updates about the status of the bloggers' properties, pictures of the newly decorated rooms within their homes and even their favourite furniture and décor choices.

For Miranda, who uses the Instagram handle @my_morpeth_129, the social media platform was a wonderful way for her to find other Morpeth II homeowners and get to grips with the layout of her property, before she had even set foot in the house as she purchased her new home off plan.

The homeowner has purchased a three bedroom Morpeth II style property with the leading housebuilder, upsizing from her previous two bedroom home.

Seeking a larger house for herself and her daughter Grace (9), Miranda decided to consider purchasing a Barratt Home after hearing about the benefits of owning a new build property online.

After stepping inside the Morpeth II show home at the nearby Winnington Dale development in Northwich, the Macclesfield native was sold on the idea of living at the property and felt she had found the perfect place for herself and her family to call home.

Miranda said, “As a single mum who works full-time, I knew I needed to find a property that was low maintenance and purchasing a Barratt Home presented me with a blank canvas that I could really make my own.

“Having bought my property off-plan, I was provided with plenty of benefits, including a pick of the plots available and time to save before the big move, for things such as furniture and moving fees.

“It also allowed me the time to consider how I wanted to design my home before we moved in, enabling me to review many options of how I wanted to decorate my property and how I could put my own stamp on it.”

The three bedroom family home includes an open plan kitchen and diner on the ground floor, perfect for those who love to host dinner parties, whilst a separate lounge provides a welcoming area for evening relaxation.

Upstairs, three bedrooms, a family bathroom and an en suite to the master bedroom create a wealth of space for every member of the family to feel at home.

Miranda continued, “Although I had decided on buying a Barratt home before I began to engage with other Barratt property owners on Instagram, it was a great way for me to decide what would work best for me in my new house.

“When I got the keys, I was so proud of what I had achieved that I decided I wanted to create my own Instagram about my Morpeth, so I could keep all my photos in one place and engage with other people doing the same thing.

“It's a lovely hobby to share alongside my full-time job, it really aided me in deciding which options I wanted to pick from the Barratt Choices range and I think it would be a great help for others who have bought off-plan!”

When buying off-plan, purchasers can use the Barratt Choices range to personalise aspects of their property.

This includes choosing from a wide range of fixtures such as kitchen and flooring and is ideal for those who are looking to customise their home from the very beginning, like Miranda.

Miranda continued, “Choosing a new build home seemed like an obvious option for me as the thought of owning a brand-new property felt like a really exciting venture, and deciding to buy with Barratt was definitely the right choice.

“Throughout the whole process, I received regular updates and I always knew the status of the build and purchase, not to mention the great relationship I have with the sales team, who have been friendly, efficient and professional throughout the whole job.

“The development is also ideally located to provide me with a great work-life balance, with excellent commutes into Macclesfield and Manchester and plenty of woodland and parks to explore on days off with my daughter.

“From watching my property grow from the ground up, to driving past now and seeing my house, it puts a smile on my face every time knowing that I can drive straight up to it and walk through the front door.

“The Instagram community was a wonderful way to find my own tastes and design interests, it's incredibly welcoming and I'd encourage any other property seekers to have a look for themselves.

“I'm so glad to have found myself within this upcoming space on the internet and whilst I've moved into my home, I'm still always on the lookout for new design ideas other members of the community share!”

Silk Waters Green phase one is now sold out, with a new phase launching soon.
