More than £280k will be invested into the Glossop village of Tintwistle and its surrounding areas thanks to an upcoming development by Barratt Homes.

The new development, named Willow Gardens, will provide a collection of 119 two, three and four bedroom properties that will meet the needs of a range of homebuyers in the area.

The funding forms part of the planning agreement for the new development located on New Road and will be used to support services and improve facilities for both new and existing residents in and around the village.

Among the investment is £260,000 for ecological commitments, £5,000 going towards providing sustainable transport via a new travel plan, a landscaping buffer being constructed along the River Etherow, as well as 14 affordable homes onsite.
