Housebuilder Searching for New Apprentices Across the North West

David Wilson Homes (UK)

David Wilson Homes is continuing its positive work to support local employment, by creating six new roles to develop talent in the construction industry across Britain's North West.

The five-star Warrington-based housebuilder aims to recruit six new trade apprentices specialising in bricklaying or carpentry and joinery to work across its developments in Cheshire, Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.

The vacancies come ahead of the eleventh annual National Apprenticeship Week, running from February 3rd to 7th, which celebrates the benefits of apprenticeships for individuals, businesses and the wider economy.

The 13th annual National Apprenticeship Week is a celebration of apprenticeships across England and is a time to recognise and applaud apprentices across the country.

Throughout the 13 years, National Apprenticeship Week has brought together apprenticeship supporters from across the country, with MPs, ambassadors, apprentices, training providers and top employers involved in recognising the value and importance of apprenticeships.

Robert Holbrook, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes North West said: “The construction industry is continuing to grow and this is an exciting time for anyone with an interest in housebuilding to join a market leading company.

“As one of the country's top developers we are absolutely committed to developing raw talent and I believe that we have a duty to provide these kinds of apprenticeship opportunities.”

The new trade apprentices, who start in September, will be based on a housing development site in the county and will learn skills in bricklaying or joinery from experienced tradespeople for four days a week.

They will also spend one day a week at college undertaking a qualification in their chosen field.

All programmes are well structured and tailored to individual needs. Apprentices will receive encouragement, support and guidance to help them develop, giving the skills and qualifications for a successful career.
