BXR London announces it will be expanding into London's iconic Battersea Power Station in 2021. The opening within the historic walls of the Power Station itself arrives following the success of studios in London's Marylebone and Canary Wharf. At 14,000 sq ft, it is BXR's largest site to date. The world champion boxer Anthony Joshua is a stakeholder in the BXR business.
BXR Battersea will form part of Battersea Power Station's highly anticipated second phase of redevelopment of the Grade II* listed building itself, launching in 2021. It will house BXR's second members-only gym along with three Sweat by BXR pay-to-train studios and state of the art facilities.
BXR Battersea will be located in the Power Station's Turbine Hall B, which was completed in the 1950s, and has more of a Bauhaus, industrial look and feel. The gym will offer three of Sweat by BXR's pioneering studio concepts including the Versaclimber-based Cardio studio offering London's most effective lowimpact workout. The Strength & Conditioning studio offers classes designed to improve strength, mobility, conditioning and endurance whilst the Skills studio aims to teach and develop boxing technique during high intensity classes.
Olia Sardarova, BXR Owner and Founder called London:
“An important fitness market with energy and high performing individuals. BXR is thrilled to be opening at Battersea Power Station in one of London's most iconic redevelopment projects.”
Sam Cotton, Deputy Head of Leasing at Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC) said:
“The BXR concept is unlike any other fitness brand out there. We are really looking forward to seeing what the team will do with the one-of-a-kind space inside one of the Power Station's Turbine Halls.”
“The brands we are bringing to Battersea will provide local and out of town visitors alike the opportunity to experience the latest in health, beauty, fashion, food, wellness and beyond. The excitement is really building here, and I look forward to showing the world what we have created when the Power Station opens its doors in 2021.”
Once open to the public in 2021, Battersea Power Station will become one of London's most vibrant and exciting destinations. The landmark building will house over 100 shops, restaurants and cafes, 253 apartments, a unique chimney lift experience offering 360 degree panoramic views of London's skyline from a height of over 100m, Apple's London Campus, Swedish business members club, No18 and Battersea Energy House – a unique collection of event spaces with a 2,000 person capacity. The Northern Line is also being extended to give this new area of London its very own Zone 1 Underground station which will be a few minutes' walk away from BXR's site.
Providing a 360-degree approach to fitness, BXR's world-class team is made up of boxing coaches, exchampion boxers, MMA fighters and the top sports therapists and osteopaths in the industry. The elite BXR training team will work with individual members to develop a bespoke training plan to improve their skills, enhance their fitness and overall wellbeing and help them exceed their personal goals.
BXR will enhance the fitness offering already available at Circus West Village, the first chapter of the regeneration of Battersea Power Station, which is a thriving riverside destination that over a thousand people call home. In the last year, over three million people visited the diverse mix of shops, restaurants, bars, theatre, cinema, spin studio and crazy golf on offer in this first chapter.
