Barratt Homes

After news that construction could reconvene in Lancashire, Barratt Homes has received further positive news as a Site Manager has been rewarded with a top national award for quality from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

Neil Salisbury (53), a Preston native, has received a NHBC Pride in the Job Quality award for his outstanding work throughout the last year.

Neil has been a part of Barratt Homes Manchester for 15 years, and has recently overseen progress at the Wesley Chase development on Lightfoot Lane, Fulwood.

Describing his win as “fantastic,” Neil has won an impressive eight awards over his years with Barratt Homes.

He said: “It's an amazing feeling. It's important that we deliver the high-quality homes our customers deserve and expect from a five-star builder, so it's great our hard work has been recognised.

“I want to thank the whole site team at Wesley Chase. It's a group effort, and without them on board we can't make it happen.”

Continuing into their 40th year, the prestigious Pride in the Job Quality awards recognise the best of the best, highlighting Site Managers from around the UK. Parent company, Barratt Developments' Site Managers won 92 Pride in the Job Quality awards in 2020, more than any other housebuilder.

Barratt has won the most Pride in the Job Quality awards for a record-breaking consecutive 16 years, an outstanding feat in the industry that shows its commitment to building top-quality homes across the country.

Each Site Manager is judged on a range of key criteria including health and safety, their technical knowledge, customer service and attention to detail. Pride in the Job is the most highly regarded competition in the housebuilding industry with just 450 individual winners being chosen from over 11,000 entrants.

Neil Goodwin, Managing Director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “During periods of uncertainty, it is great to see our Site Managers being recognised amongst the very best in the country for the high-quality homes they deliver.

“It is now more important than ever that customers have confidence in the homes they are buying, and the mark of a Pride in the Job Quality award shows that their home has been built to the highest of standards.

“We are very proud to have won more of these quality awards than any other housebuilder for 16 years in a row.”
