A couple from London have recently relocated to Barratt Homes' Bedfordshire development, Clipstone Park, after looking to upsize and escape the expensive living costs of the capital.
Previously living in Finchley, Silene Sanz (38) and Robin Evans (40) were looking for a larger home as they are expecting a baby boy in March.
The couple, along with their Spanish rescue cats, Noa and Ares, are now settled into their four bedroom Hesketh style home.
Robin, an Operational Risk Consultant in the Property Industry, said: “As we planned to start our family, we knew that we would need to upsize from the previous terraced houses and flats we had been renting from in London. We are now expecting a little boy in March, so we managed to move at the perfect time.
“Silene works as a Quality Specialist in Pharmaceuticals, and is now working full time from home. I currently work from home three days a week, whilst commuting to London the other days. Before we moved, we were both squashed up on the kitchen table, which made working from home pretty uncomfortable. But now we each have a room on the top floor as our own office space.
“I also use my office space for my hobbies. I keep all of my music equipment in there, it's a perfect little man cave! Silene does a similar thing in hers, keeping space free for all the online exercise classes she does.”
“For the days I do need to travel into work, the commute is so easy. From Leighton Buzzard, the train only takes 27 minutes to arrive in London. The commute only takes me an extra 15 minutes more than when we were living in Barnet.”
Clipstone Park, situated on Ramsay off Leighton Road, is well sought after due to its excellent commuter links. Working professionals can benefit from being less than 15 miles from Milton Keynes, and can easily arrive in London from Leighton Buzzard Station.
Robin continued: “We were so surprised with the value for money at the development, it's incredible that we were able to purchase a new four bedroom detached home. We have our bedroom, an office each and we are preparing the new room for the baby. It's amazing to have so much space.
“The surrounding area is lovely too. It is very green and has a quiet, country feel which makes such a contrast to London. Leighton Buzzard has some great local businesses we like going to as well.”
Karly Williams, Sales Director at Barratt Homes North Thames, said: “We're delighted to hear that Silene and Robin are now settled into their new home and we hope they continue to enjoy exploring the area.
“With working from home becoming normality, it's really interesting to hear how they have utilised their spare rooms.
“It's great news that they're expecting a baby boy, all of us at Barratt Homes wish them a healthy pregnancy and birth!”
Residents of the development can also benefit from a number of amenities on their doorstep such as parklands and open spaces, a range of schools in the area and on the development, and new sports pitches.
