A couple have recently moved into Barratt Homes' Bedfordshire development, Clipstone Park, after reserving their home during lockdown and only seeing the home through a virtual tour.

Binu Fernandez and Liji John (both 40), were looking to escape the rental trap and start investing money into their new home.

The couple, who are originally from India, used the Help to Buy scheme which enabled them to choose their four bedroom detached Alderney style home.

Binu, an Administrator, said: “Clipstone Park is in such a perfect location. There's little pollution and it's very quiet. The surrounding countryside is lovely. I work in North West London, and the commute is so easy.

“We're so happy to be settling into our new home. We see paying a mortgage as a kind of saving, it's so much better than paying rent.

“Because of the lockdown period, we couldn't go and see the development or home in person. We took Barratt's virtual street tour, which is a great way to see the location of the house and the surrounding roads, and helped us to gain the feeling of the development.

“The Alderney style home is great, it's exactly what we were looking for. It has a nice large kitchen, each room feels very spacious, and we have a garage. The benefit of buying a new home is that it comes with all the latest designs and is much more energy efficient.

“Our friends recommended Barratt Homes to us, and they have lived up to the expectation. The sales team are really helpful and it made for a great moving experience. I will definitely be recommending them to our friends and family.”
