As plans to upgrade the Transpennine Route get underway, and Doncaster railway station undergoes a £7.5million facelift, a property developer that specialises in converting unused offices to residential stock has launched a new development of 34 modern apartments in Portland Place, Doncaster near the town centre.

Solomon New Homes has identified Doncaster as one of the country's fastest regenerating towns and has undertaken the off-plan marketing of a multimillion-pound office conversion project near the Civic Way offering 26 one bedroom and 8 two bedroomed apartments available in Q3 of 2022 starting from £114,500.

Solomon founder, Andrew Ward, comments: “As specialists in delivering residential developments across Northern secondary and tertiary towns and city centres such as Bolton, Doncaster, Leeds, and Newcastle, we welcome the rail improvements announced by the Transpennine Route Upgrade and believe it will bring a boost to Northern economy - making these locations more attractive for both work and home.”

Standing close to a large, wooded roundabout near Trafford Way, the three story, brick-built Portland Place is already something of a local landmark.  The building will be further enhanced with new glazing and entranceways, exterior lighting and improvements to the gated 36 space car park.

Andrew adds: “Although this is a stylish and modern development, Doncaster is still very much a traditional Yorkshire market town that continues to attract both investors and home buyers and we believe this development will contribute greatly to the almost £5 billion local economy.”

The Portland Place apartments will also be available to new homeowners under the extended Help to Buy scheme and are backed by a 10-year warranty.  More details on Portland Place can be found here.
