W.RE acquire Willcox House on Borough High Street for £9.4 million
For immediate release
W.RE have doubled down in Borough High Street and acquired Willcox House, 140-148 Borough High Street, their second investment in this location following the previous redevelopment at 160 Borough High Street.
The 15,360 sq ft office building was bought from The Proclamation Trust who have moved to new premises within Southwark.
W.RE is planning to restore the modernist character of Willcox House, which was originally designed by Richard Seifert in the 1950s and to bring the building forward into the 21st century, creating contemporary workspaces that meet the evolving demands of today's occupiers.
Sascha Lewin, CEO of W.RE, said: “We are really excited to back in Borough High Street, a location that keeps getting better and better. Willcox House has a fantastic architectural heritage and with a carefully considered approach to its restoration we have the opportunity to develop a very special building for this submarket.”
