Property4Media has today launched the Property Press Awards 2021 and revealed that winners will be announced at a champagne ceremony at the Museum of London on 20 October by celebrity Phil Spencer.
The entry process for the Awards (https://propertypressawards.com) is now open to the media. Entries must be based on work published between 1 January 2020 and 31 May 2021.
Last year's event, the 10th running of the Awards, saw multiple records broken, with over 140 entries and 100 top journalists shortlisted. The winners were announced in a live YouTube broadcast (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pyu8WjSsHYU), also hosted by Phil Spencer, the leading TV personality and property expert.
In a nail-biting finish between three high-profile journalists, The Times' and Sunday Times' Hugh Graham was ultimately crowned Property Journalist of the Year 2020, based on scores across all categories. Judges included industry leaders Mark Collins, Chairman of CBRE, Gráinne Gilmore, Head of Research, Zoopla; British Property Federation's CEO, Melanie Leech, and Kate Mavor, CEO of English Heritage.
The Property Press Awards celebrate the sector's finest journalistic achievements, recognising outstanding talent across the media spectrum. The 18 categories cover residential and commercial property, overseas property, mortgages, interiors, and more.
This year will see the Awards feature three brand new categories: Sustainability Journalist of the Year, Property Influencer of the Year, and a Special Achievement Award which will honour outstanding writing on property during the pandemic. The evening's climax is the announcement of the Property Journalist of the Year 2021.
Our judges are some of the most respected figures in the property sector, with 2021's panel featuring senior industry executives, media and marketing professionals and sector personalities.
Sponsors already confirmed for 2021 include Ballymore (Property Trade Magazine of the Year); Barratt Developments (Regional Property Journalist of the Year); Elevate PR (Property Freelance Journalist of the Year); FTI Consulting (Property Business Journalist of the Year); Knight Frank (Property Journalist of the Year); Lucas Fox (International Property Journalist of the Year); Newgate Communications (Property Supplement of the Year); Strawberry Star (Property Staff Journalist of the Year); Strutt & Parker (Newcomer of the Year); Skipton Building Society (Consumer Mortgage Journalist of the Year), and Zoopla (Property Columnist of the Year). ProperPR, formerly PropergandaPR, will be sponsoring the event's bar.
Limited sponsorship opportunities remain available, including Award categories, badges, bar and bags. Details of these and bespoke sponsorship opportunities can be found on the Awards' website (https://propertypressawards.com/sponsorship-opportunities.html).
The event is organised by Property4Media, the social network connecting the property sector with property journalists.
Property4Media CEO Henry Hemming said: “The return of the Property Press Awards as a physical event is something we all relish and I think people should plan ahead for a party on the night of 20 October! Phil Spencer did the Awards proud online last year – it will be a delight to have him there in person.
“We are anticipating a record entry for the Awards, so big thanks to all our journalists, sponsors, judges and supporters for all their backing.”
