Fairview New Homes, the first-time buyer developer of choice, is hosting a Deposit Unlock event at Epping Gate, its new development in Loughton, Essex, on Saturday 15 April, to help educate house-hunters on the scheme and their eligibility.
With the Help to Buy door now firmly shut after the deadline to complete on the scheme passed on 31 March, the hill to homeownership has only steepened for first-time buyers, which is why Fairview is keen to shed light on another useful scheme available, which can help them onto the property ladder sooner than they might think.
Like the popular Help to Buy scheme, Deposit Unlock allows buyers to purchase a new build property using just a 5% deposit, as opposed to a 10-15% deposit which most mortgage lenders require, however it isn't as widely known to first-time buyers.
