Developer Stock Plots Are Given the Thread & Dandy Treatment

Thread and Dandy

Breathing life into stock plot homes, Thread and Dandy, the new soft furnishing service by award- winning design studio Andrew Henry Interiors, is experiencing impressive results. Developers investing in window dressings for new homes are seeing increased traction with one leading client reporting that all plots on one development fitted with Thread & Dandy curtains and blinds, had been reserved within two weeks of installation. With additional positive experiences reported by other clients, Thread & Dandy has captured the criticality of adding homely finishing touches to stock plots to relate to prospective buyers and encourage them to purchase a new home.

Since its launch in 2022, Thread & Dandy has seen remarkable growth both with new homeowners and housebuilders, specifically within their show homes or stock plots. The soft furnishings brand's regular client base includes leading housebuilders, Barratt David Wilson, primarily in Kent, Hampshire and Dorset, Vistry Group, and London Square who have either included the window treatments as part of a sales incentive or utilised them to enhance stock plot presentation.

One client who has seen a notable reaction to window treatments within stock plots is Barratt Homes, specifically at its site near Dover, Richmond Park. Ben Thwaites, Sales Manager at BDW Kent comments: “Thread & Dandy dressed four stock plots for us in one go and all were reserved within two weeks which we were thrilled about. We strongly feel the investment is worthwhile as it gives the plots a more homely feel, adds interest and moves away from the emptiness that stock units often have. For the homebuyer, it's a huge saving for them, particularly as many wouldn't have the budget for made to measure window treatments in each room. We have received very positive feedback on all the Thread & Dandy products.”

Andrew Henry, Director of Thread & Dandy comments: “We are delighted with the reaction and proven results of incorporating window treatments in stock plots, and how these appeal to prospective buyers. Choosing window dressings in a brand-new home can often feel overwhelming, but it's also key to making the space feel warm and inviting. Adding window treatments is also a great way to show prospective buyers the full potential of the home whilst alleviating the pressure of purchasing brand new curtains or blinds, which can often be both costly and time consuming.”

Thread & Dandy offer curtain packages to developer clients with most selecting the Classic Curtain option. This timeless and classic package includes wood slat blinds to the kitchen and bathrooms, full length wave headed curtains to the living room, master bedroom and any French doors, with Roman blinds for all other windows. All bedroom treatments are made with blackout linings as standard and the service includes a check measure of the plot and full installation. Prices typically range from circa £3500 on a smaller home to more than £6500 for a larger one.

As part of their ongoing commitment to their developer clients, the Thread & Dandy team has also recently hosted a series of site events, show- casing upcoming design trends and sharing expert styling advice. These informal and relaxed events also provide an easy way for homeowners and potential buyers to meet one another.
