The mental health and wellbeing charity was founded over 40 years ago and overseen and accredited to the highest standard by the Mind Quality Mark.
The donation came as part of The Barratt Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.
Mind BLMK provide several services from wellbeing centres and local venues to make a positive difference to the mental health and wellbeing of people within the community.
The contribution from the leading housebuilder has been distributed across all the charity's services to provide life-changing support to those in the local community.
Gretchen Larkin, Fundraising and Engagement Manager at MIND BLMK, said: “Our work continues to evolve to suit and reflect the needs of our service users across our communities, whilst helping to reduce the pressures on the NHS.
“Every penny raised and donated helps us to continue to evolve and reflect the needs of our service users. In 2020, Mind BLMK had an approximate workforce of 40, now we have over 100. The demand for our services is increasing as we navigate through an evolving and difficult financial landscape. Our aim remains consistent though; no-one should face a mental health problem alone.
“It was incredible when we found out that we had been nominated to receive this donation. The housebuilder's Community Fund scheme is an incredible opportunity to make a real difference to charities operating on a local level.
“On behalf of everyone at Mind BLMK, I would like to say a huge thank you to Barratt and David Wilson Homes for joining the fight for positive mental health, and helping to raise awareness.”
Over the last 12 months, Mind BLMK has provided 24,727 hours of support through our group and one-to-one sessions.
Will Phair, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire, said: “As a leading housebuilder we strive to support the communities in and around the areas in which we build, and we are delighted to be able to offer Mind BLMK a donation to support the fantastic work it does.”
