Harron Homes North Midlands recently welcomed Mike Ashworth to its Barlborough office as the new Planning Manager to promote new locations across the South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire areas as part of the company's continued growth.

Mike, 47, joins the team with 24 years of industry experience.

Mike said, “Having worked as a Chartered Town Planner for many years, I understand the mechanics of the planning process and how it applies to new housing developments. Securing allocations, planning permissions and all this entails is a major part of what I do. My most recent experience has included three years within housebuilding which I am excited to continue with Harron Homes as part of its growth plans for the region.”

Looking forward to the varied nature of his new position, Mike seeks to build upon Harron's impressive portfolio.

“I very much enjoy the different challenges that come with this role and the focus on providing quality in every part of the process. Parts of the area are new to me as majority of my working life has been spent in Yorkshire, so I'm excited to get stuck in to discovering different parts of the country and finding the best places for Harron to grow.

“I know Harron's product is of a high quality and am looking forward to being a part of its continuation. There are exciting upcoming opportunities to work with new house building policies and continue to build strong relationships with local governing bodies.”

Moving to Harron Homes was an easy decision for Mike.

“I previously worked as an external consultant for Harron and so know the business and product well. It's been great to witness the expansion of the North Midlands region recently and I'm keen to get involved. The scope of the area is remarkable with a varied mix of rural and urban areas that have high quality landscapes and there is a rich variety of different town and villages.

“I can't wait to get stuck in with the team who all seem a great bunch. I know everyone here brings incredible value and we are all working towards a unified goal.”
