Cradley Pupils See the Sites at Bromford Shared Ownership Development

Bromford

Cradley pupils were recently given a hands-on site safety tour of an upcoming new homes development courtesy of Bromford one of the UK's largest housing associations, and Countryside Partnerships, part of Vistry Group and the UK's leading provider of affordable mixed-tenure homes.

14 children aged five to 11 from Caslon Primary School were welcomed to the development just off Park Lane, in Cradley by Project Manager Evroy Allen, to learn more about how homes are built and the importance of safety around building sites.

Two children from each year group, Caslon's dedicated Wellbeing Warriors, were in attendance with the trip underlining the new homes providers' commitment to giving back to the communities they operate in.

This is the second community project Bromford has worked with Caslon Primary School on after 20 pupils' Road Safety Week posters were displayed on the site hoarding around the development.

Park Lane, situated off the B4174, comprises a stunning collection of three-bedroom homes built by Vistry Group's five-star builder Countryside Partnerships, available through Bromford Shared Ownership.

Lynette Holden-Gough, Headteacher at Caslon Primary School, said: “The pupils at our school really enjoyed visiting the site, and we're grateful to Bromford for arranging this fantastic experience for children across a variety of ages.

“The site team from Vistry's Countryside could not have been more welcoming or helpful, and we know that our pupils will benefit greatly from this visit.”

Shared Ownership gives first-time buyers and those who do not currently own a property the opportunity to secure a new build home with Bromford. Homebuyers pay a mortgage on the share they own, and pay rent on the remaining share, meaning only a smaller deposit is required.

Built specifically to help meet the needs of local people, priority is given to applicants with a connection to Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council.

Those who have lived or been employed within the council's district for a number of years, or have family who have lived within the area for over three years will take precedence.

Lucy Mynett, Development Manager at Vistry, North West Midlands, said: “We were delighted to welcome these young people onto our worksite and give them a flavour of the world of construction and the importance of safety on site.

“Housebuilding is fundamental to all our lives, and it was fantastic to see the level of engagement and enthusiasm from the potential engineers of tomorrow.”

Karen Adams, Sales Manager at Bromford, said: “Giving back to our local communities is so important to us at Bromford, so to have welcomed the children of Cradley to explore one of our development was enriching and rewarding.

“Park Lane is an important development for us, so for the pupils to learn about all of the hard work that goes into making it a great place to live helps to demonstrate the importance of our community projects.”

Bromford is part of the National Shared Ownership campaign supported by the National Housing Federation.
