Yorkshire Housing Development Starts After £6m Funding

Together

An award-winning housebuilder has secured a £5.96m loan facility from property lender Together – paving the way for a new development of family homes in Yorkshire.

Family-owned residential developer Newett Homes is due to start construction on a 1.87-hectare parcel of land off Owston Road, Carcroft, Doncaster. The development will breathe new life into the heavily overgrown former allotment site, creating 63 two, three and four-bedroom homes and a children's play park at the site, which will be known as Hazel Grove following its completion next Spring.

The finance has been provided by UK-wide property lender Together, which has a £7bn loan book and launched a new £150m development finance fund earlier this year for SME housebuilders.

Ian Pickering, Head of Development Funding at Together, said: “We have a huge appetite to support house builders to deliver projects such as Newett Homes' Hazel Grove and provide much-needed family homes for communities across Yorkshire.

“It's fantastic to see this type of building on previously-developed brownfield land, something which property professionals, including residential developers have been calling out for.

“Our own research has found a quarter of property professionals want to see more support from the Government, regardless of which party wins the election, to turn disused sites into much needed housing stock - and the Hazel Grove scheme is a perfect example of this.
“We look forward to seeing the completion of the project, working in partnership with Newett Homes to help them realise their ambitions to create high-quality family living spaces.”

Newett Homes has previously completed successful similar developments with properties now on the market. They include The Brooklands in Thurlstone on the edge of the Peak District and The Croft in Harthill, near the M1 between Sheffield and Worksop.

The group has also finished The Pastures, a development of three, four and five luxury homes in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
Will Newett of Newett Homes, said: "We are delighted to announce our collaboration with Together, whose funding is instrumental in bringing our new development, Hazel Grove, to life in Carcroft. This development, which will feature 63 high-quality homes, represents a significant step in our mission to provide exceptional living spaces in Yorkshire.

“Together's support enables us to continue our tradition of excellence in home building, ensuring that each residence at Hazel Grove meets the highest standards of design and craftsmanship. Their commitment to funding innovative and impactful projects aligns perfectly with our vision of creating vibrant communities where people can thrive.”
