New build home buyers can save an average of £979 per year on their energy bills, according to a new report from the Home Builders Federation (HBF). That's because the average new build home is so energy efficient that owners save a staggering 50% on their heating, hot water and lighting costs, with 86% of new builds achieving an EPC rating of A or B (compared to 5% of existing older properties).
