Excitement at Wadswick Green, the lifestyle community for the over 60s in Corsham, as 18 of its first residents and five staff members gathered in style to celebrate the village's 10-year anniversary. The milestone celebration took place on Tuesday, 1st April and commenced with champagne and canapes and a delicious three-course meal at the village's onsite restaurant, The Greenhouse. 

Prior to the event, guests were encouraged to bring a collection of photos to reminisce about the past 10 years, share their favourite moments and reflect on how much Wadswick Green has grown.  

Christine Carter, who was one of the first to move to Wadswick Green in 2015, remembers: “Life here has and continues to be absolutely delightful. From the very beginning, the staff have been consistently helpful and I have truly enjoyed watching the village grow over the years. With a few more properties soon to be launched, I look forward to meeting the latest residents.” 

Marilyn McGee, who bought one of Wadswick Green's spacious two-bedroom apartment, adds: “I would consider the social aspect of Wadswick Green one of the biggest advantages as I never really feel lonely or isolated. Whether you are looking to join a walking group, gardening or play-reading club, there are plenty of activities that make it easy to find new friends. I'm 'as happy as Larry' here.” 

Since first opening its doors in 2015, Wadswick Green has evolved into an award-winning lifestyle village that is now home to over 260 residents. Susan Chant, who has been the Senior Sales Advisor since the village's humble beginnings, says: “I have had the privilege of personally welcoming the majority of residents and see them shape Wadswick Green into the friendly community that it is today.  

“It really is the people that make the place and being able to sit down with everyone to celebrate, share memories and listen to ideas on how to improve Wadswick Green further has been fantastic. I'm speaking on behalf of all staff when I say that we are very much looking forward to celebrating Wadswick Green's next milestones.” 

Commenting on the event, Keith Turnbull, Village Manager said: “It has been a real joy to be involved in celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Wadswick Green's first opening. 18 owners moved into the very first phase of Wadswick Green in 2015 and they were joined by five of our team, who have been here for this full period too. It seemed only right where the community is forged by our owners and team in tandem to celebrate their milestones together. This will now become an annual event, and we should have 35 owners celebrating their 10 years here in 2026.”   

“In November we look forward to celebrating 10 years of the Pavilion building and the opening of our New Village Hall. Whilst change is both necessary and ongoing to meet the demands of a growing village, the key constant that underpins everything we do is the sense of community here at Wadswick Green.” 

To ensure that future as well as existing residents continue to have varied lifestyle, Wadswick Green regularly introduces new initiatives, events and partnerships.
