The Circuit International des Remparts d'Angoulême, often referred to as the Grand Prix International des Remparts, Grand Prix des Remparts, and Circuit des Remparts, is a thrilling car racing event held on a circuit that weaves through the historic ramparts of Angoulême's city center.

The competition was conceived in 1938, with its project being developed in 1938 and 1939 by the Automobile Club of Deux-Sèvres, Charente, and Vendée (ACDSCV) under the title "Circuit des Remparts".
Disputed for the first time in 1939, this urban speed event, featuring cars and motorcycles, was halted due to the 39-45 War. It made a comeback in 1947 and quickly gained significant recognition upon its return, thanks to the participation of some of the best drivers of the era, including Fangio and Trintignant.
Revived in 1978, the Circuit des Remparts has gradually evolved into an internationally recognized automobile event, showcasing historic cars from various periods that compete either on the circuit or in elegance and restoration competitions... -the event is further enhanced by numerous exhibitions throughout the city and several tourist rallies featuring historic vehicles in the picturesque Charente countryside.
