Lendlease has achieved the first of its Mission Zero decarbonisation targets, reaching Net Zero for Scope 1 & 2 emissions by the end of FY25.

Since launching its Mission Zero strategy in 2020, Lendlease has reduced gross Scope 1 & 2 emissions from activities under its operational control by 89 per cent with the remaining emissions compensated through buying high-quality, Australian nature-based carbon offsets.

Scope 1 & 2 emission reductions have been achieved through the execution of decarbonisation strategies in Lendlease's climate transition plans and through the simplification of the organisation. Lendlease is also now procuring 100 per cent renewable electricity for all operations, five years ahead of schedule.

Emission reduction strategies have included the use of electric plant and equipment in place of diesel options during construction and increasing onsite solar and improving energy efficiency across assets in Lendlease's Investment Management portfolio.

In addition, the design and delivery of new, all-electric developments including Victoria Cross Tower in North Sydney will remove fossil fuel dependency for base building services.

Lendlease will now focus efforts on its industry leading Absolute Zero by 2040 target across Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions, within its defined boundary and without the use of offsets.

Lendlease's Mission Zero targets are aligned with the Paris Agreement goal to limit warming to 1.5°C and signal support for accelerating the pace and scale of decarbonisation across the built environment sector.
