The Melrose Park Community Cup has once again proved a winner for the local community, raising a record $102,000 for local organisations.
Sekisui House Australia is proud to be the major sponsor of this year's event on October 30 which brought the community together through an Ambrose Golf Day and a sold-out dinner at Ryde Parramatta Golf Club.
Proceeds from the fundraising event will support Parramatta Women's Shelter, West Ryde Rovers, Melrose Park Public School, St Michael's Primary School, Ermington United and Find Ya Feet.
This is the 7th Melrose Park Community Cup, and over the years it has raised more than $600,000 for local organisations that continue to make a meaningful impact in the community.
Ermington United Sport and Recreation Club President Joe Moses said he looked forward to the event every year.
“The unique thing about this is, we're all different community groups from all different backgrounds – but at this event we all come together as one, and we all get along so well.”
Alex Grujovski, Melrose Park Project Director at Sekisui House reinforced how delighted we are to be the major sponsor of such an important community initiative.
“There is a wonderful community spirit here in Melrose Park, and the response to this year's Community Cup has been extraordinary,” he said.
“It's pleasing to see a packed field of golfers, a sold-out dinner, and so many people coming together to enjoy themselves for a good cause.
“Every one of the groups that benefit plays a vital role in the Melrose Park community, and Sekisui House is proud to lend its support.
“Community is extremely important to Sekisui House, and that's what we are building here in Melrose Park.
“We believe in the social cohesion of all the groups and here we're not only building new homes, we are also building a brand-new community which will thrive for years to come.”
