The Hill Group Raises £14,000 for the Royal British Legion

The Hill Group

The Hill Group has proudly donated £14,000 to the Royal British Legion (RBL), thanks to generous contributions from its suppliers, subcontractors, and colleagues. The fundraising initiative was led by Cain Peters, Managing Director of Special Projects at The Hill Group and a former serviceman, who organised the campaign and presented a ceremonial cheque to Graham Ferris and Peter Wakeham, the Regional and Surrey Poppy Appeal Managers.

The presentation took place on 10 November at Ham Close, an exciting housing-led regeneration project near Richmond, close to the Royal British Legion's historic poppy-making factory. The development is being delivered by Hill in partnership with Richmond Housing Partnership (RHP) and the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Cain Peters said: "As a former serviceman, this is a charity that's very close to my heart. I've seen the challenges faced by veterans and their families, and the Royal British Legion provides invaluable support to those who have served. I'm incredibly proud of the generosity shown by our supply chain and colleagues, and it's a privilege to make this contribution in recognition of the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces."

Graham Ferris, Regional Poppy Appeal Manager added: "We are extremely grateful to The Hill Group for their generous donation and continued support. Every pound raised makes a direct impact on the lives of those who have served and continue to serve our country. It was a pleasure to meet Cain and the team at Ham Close and to see first-hand the sense of community that Hill is building through their regeneration projects."

From short-term relief to lifelong support, donations enable the RBL – the UK's largest Armed Forces charity - to help in ways tailored to the Armed Forces community's unique needs and circumstances and, at any given moment, the RBL is helping over 7,000 members of the Armed Forces community with expert advice and practical support. RBL's range of services, scale, and partner network means it can support those facing multiple and complex challenges from mental and physical recovery programmes, help with finances, housing, and adapting to civilian life, to building camaraderie.

Once complete, Ham Close will create a thriving new neighbourhood of over 400 sustainable homes, new community spaces, and landscaped green areas, demonstrating Hill's dedication to placemaking and long-term community investment.
