After several months of trying to find a buyer for their home independently, the Lacey family were able to secure a swift move into a brand new Harron home thanks to the housebuilder's Part Exchange scheme, which saw their existing property purchased and taken off the market in just three days.
Steve (50), a project manager in the nuclear sector, Lalita (41), a tech operator, and their daughter Georgie (12) were able to move into their new home in Harron's Brierley Heath development in Sutton-in-Ashfield in just eight weeks.
Logistics played another part in the family's decision. Steve commented, “The Part Exchange process was smooth and easy. Not only did we have a guaranteed buyer, but the scheme allowed us to stay in our home until the new one was ready, so there was no extra stress or expense from having to rent in between.”
“Being local to the area, we were aware of the development and would frequently take a look around,” mentioned Steve. “We decided to buy off-plan after seeing the three-bedroom Bradwell style, as it had a large fourth bedroom advertised as a study, which is perfect for working from home.” He added, “The service and communication from Harron was five star. We got sent pictures of the building process, and had weekly catch-up calls with the sales team. The guys on site have been really helpful.”
The family were keen to find a home with more space and modern features, as their previous house they had lived in for 21 years had a considerably smaller third bedroom that Steve used as a study.
Moving from a semi-detached house in a busier area just five minutes away to a detached property, the Lacey's found their new home to be an upgrade, with more space, better insulation and situated in a peaceful area with a countryside feel. The plot that they had chosen also gave them added privacy, thanks to the large garden backing on to horse paddocks.
“The garden is a great size,” commented Steve. “The extra space allows us to make our badminton net a permanent fixture, with enough room to host barbecues for our family and friends”. Lalita added “My passion is cooking, and the size and set up of the open plan diner is perfect for me”. The family also highlighted that the large windows and French doors let lots of natural light in during the day.
When they're not hosting, the Lacey family frequently visit Brierley Forest Park, a local park near the Brierley Heath development. “We go for lots of different walks on various routes in the park, and it's nice to have it situated right on our doorstep.”
Brierley Heath is located on Brand Lane, Stanton Hill, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, NG17 3GH, with a selection of three- and four-bedroom homes starting at £289,000.
