The French Alps have always been a cool place to holiday in winter, but an increasing number of buyers now see it as a year-round destination.

With sales across the region rising by 7.5% this year, and a strong pipeline heading into the new year, the forecast for 2026 is bright. Key facts from the report include:

  • clear rise in interest from UK buyers
  • 91% of buyers see running costs as key
  • Haute-Savoie has seen biggest jump in sales volumes (10%)
  • return of zero-interest mortgages has brought first-time buyers back
  • climate debate has polarised the market - guaranteed snow v lower slopes/lakeside living
  • pockets of prime locations have seen jumps of up to 10% in price
  • prices tipped to rise in 2026
