Pillar Hall, Olympia to Open on 30th March 2026. A Landmark Restaurant, Speakeasy, Events and Live Music Venue
Olympia's £1.3 billion redevelopment is set to reach a significant delivery milestone on 30 March with the opening of Pillar Hall – the first completed hospitality venue within the 14-acre scheme.
The 30,000 ft venue sits within a restored Grade II* listed hall, originally built in 1886, and will encompass a 300-cover restaurant, basement speakeasy-style bar and a 500+ capacity event and live music space, and will be led by Des Gunewardena, founder of D3 Collective and former CEO of D&D London.
Pillar Hall marks the first operational component of a wider mixed-use destination that will integrate business, entertainment and culture.
Designed by Heatherwick Studio and SPPARC for Yoo Capital and DFI, the transformation of Olympia ranks among the most ambitious regeneration projects currently underway globally, reimagining the 140-year-old site from a historic exhibition venue into a global destination for entertainment, culture and hospitality.
The 14-acre site will include: a 3,800-capacity AEG-operated music venue, London's largest purpose-built theatre in almost 50 years (a JV between Trafalgar Entertainment and the Schubert Organization), two hotels and major public realm all to follow through to 2027. With an anticipated 10 million annual visitors and British Airways announced as Founding Partner, Olympia is positioning itself as a new global cultural hub for west London.
Following the launch of Pillar Hall, Olympia will continue to unveil hotly anticipated openings on a phased basis throughout the year.
Laura Citron OBE, CEO of London & Partners, said: “Olympia has long been one of London's most iconic and historical venues. We're incredibly excited for its transformation into a destination in its own right. It's a real testament to London's ability to continuously reinvent its offer for leisure and business visitors, as well as Londoners themselves.
London's experience economy is a vital sector for growth over the next decade. Olympia's transformation plays a significant role in this: helping to shape our city as a world-leading place to visit, study, and live.”
