Nottinghamshire Housebuilder Opens a New Chapter for Young Readers With World Book Day School Donations
Regional housebuilder Allison Homes East Midlands has celebrated World Book Day (Thursday 5th March) by donating books to two primary schools in Cotgrave, located close to its upcoming Hayes View development, which is launching later this spring and will deliver 45 high-quality new homes.
The donations were made to Cotgrave Candleby Lane School and Cotgrave CofE Primary School helping to support reading and encourage a love of books among pupils in the local community.
In total, up to 50 books were donated to each school, giving pupils access to a wider range of stories and learning materials.
Meg Lowe, Marketing Manager at Allison Homes East Midlands, said: “World Book Day is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate reading, and the power books have to inspire young minds. As we prepare to bring our Hayes View development to Cotgrave, we're proud to support nearby schools and hope these donations help encourage pupils to discover new stories and enjoy reading for years to come.”
Cotgrave Candleby Lane School, said: “Books have a wonderful way of opening doors for children. We're really grateful for this generous donation – it means our pupils will have even more opportunities to discover new stories, spark their imagination and develop a lifelong love of reading.”
Emily Black, Senior Teacher at Cotgrave C of E Primary School, said: “We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Allison Homes for their generous donation of books for our pupils on World Book Day. Their donation has helped make the day even more special for our children involved.
“The new books have already sparked excitement in classrooms and will continue to enrich our library for years to come. We are incredibly grateful for their kindness and commitment to supporting our school community. Thank you, Allison Homes, for helping our children develop their passion for reading.”
World Book Day is an annual celebration that promotes reading for pleasure and highlights the importance of books in developing imagination, creativity and lifelong learning among children. As part of the initiative, children are often given the opportunity to choose a book of their own using World Book Day tokens, helping to ensure that every child has access to stories and reading materials, regardless of background.
Hayes View, located on Hollygate Lane, will comprise an exclusive collection of three and four bedroom energy-efficient homes, combining modern design with the character of a historic setting. The development will benefit from excellent local amenities, scenic green spaces and convenient access to Nottingham city centre, making it an ideal place for families and professionals alike.
