To coincide with Walk Wheel Cycle Trust's Big Walk and Wheel (16th - 27th March), Barratt and David Wilson Homes is highlighting the walking and cycling routes around its Darwin Green developments in Cambridge.
Walk Wheel Cycle Trust's Big Walk and Wheel is a national competition designed to inspire pupils to make active journeys to school, improve air quality, and discover how these changes benefit their world.
In Walk Wheel Cycle Trust's Children's Walking and Cycling Index in 2024, it was revealed that 14% of primary school trips are carried out by bike. The vast majority of children also support actions like creating more cycle paths to improve walking and cycling to school.
Darwin Green is ideally situated with schooling options nearby. Residents can therefore make use of the cycle and pedestrian friendly routes between the development and the city centre.
Jason Hearn, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “We're proud to be providing cycle paths at Darwin Green, allowing residents to have a safe and easy way to experience the development and the surrounding areas to the fullest.
“Homebuyers can take a leisurely cycle into Cambridge city centre, or they can use the routes to commute to work or school, reducing their carbon footprint and helping to live a more sustainable life.”
Barratt Homes at Darwin Green currently has a selection of two, three and four bedroom homes available, and David Wilson Homes at Darwin Green has a range of three and four bedroom homes perfectly suitable for many buyers.
