Worcestershire Family Trades 1960s Property for Convenience and Future-Proofing With First-New-Build Home
A family of four from Cutnall Green have put down roots in Rushwick to enjoy the convenience of their first brand-new home and future-proof their living.
The Downing family have secured a four-bedroom home with Lioncourt Homes at The Green, leaving behind a larger five-bedroom property as eldest daughter Grace prepares for university.
Stewart, 50, a managing quantity surveyor and Hayley, 47, a community health practitioner within the NHS, moved into The Cypress with daughters Grace, 16 and Lauren, 13, along with their two working cocker spaniels.
Stewart said: “While we loved our old house in Cutnall Green, it was an older property and our garden was massive, so maintaining the home took up a lot of family time.
“We'd come to a point where Grace was planning for university and we didn't need the space of a large five-bedroom home.”
The family settled on The Cypress, being drawn to the layout of the home, the quality of workmanship, reduced maintenance requirements and how spread out the homes are at The Green.
Located less than three miles south-west of Worcester, the Downings' new home offers easy commuting for work and school with regular bus and train links, and the family most enjoys the semi-rural surroundings, spending many weekends walking their dogs through nearby fields and countryside.
Hayley added: “We saw a lot of new developments when looking but ultimately targeted The Green due to the big difference in space and build quality.
“We feel relieved to have moved. We had green fields nearby before so wanted to get as close to that as possible. With the rural outlook here facing greenery, and the proximity to the city centre, we have the best of both worlds.”
The family has joined a growing number of buyers choosing Lioncourt Homes, thanks to the homebuilder's commitment to meeting the highest standards on quality, location, cost, and customer service.
In 2026, Lioncourt Homes was once again awarded a five-star customer satisfaction rating from the Home Builders' Federation (HBF) for the 12th consecutive year.
The couple concluded: “We'd recommend Lioncourt Homes to anybody. This is a home we're proud of and we've already had people round who have remarked how much they like it.
“It's clearly been designed thoughtfully and things aren't just plonked in random places: our kitchen has a nice chill-out space, we have separate bathrooms and en-suites which is a big plus when you have teenagers, and a useful utility.
“Nothing is too much trouble with Lioncourt Homes. With any new-build, you get snags, but they were resolved right away and the team are just so knowledgeable – even down to the fine details of dog walking routes.”
The nearby A44 and supported transport routes make Worcester, Evesham, Cheltenham and Birmingham more easily accessible, with the city itself steeped in culture and historical significance.
