Solihull based housebuilder Barratt Homes has recruited a new Assistant Site Manager as the company goes from strength to strength, reflecting growth in the construction industry.

Raese Hussain has joined as a Trainee Assistant Site Manager through the company's bespoke foundation degree in Residential Development & Construction – designed by Barratt with Sheffield Hallam University.

The Foundation Degree is a three-year part-time course designed specifically for Barratt Group employees. Students will attend Sheffield Hallam University in four, one-week blocks with the rest of the course completed out on site.

Raese Hussain (19) from Darlaston has begun work at the company's new Salters Park development on Devereux Road in West Bromwich. Raese, said; “My father owns some property and I always enjoyed helping him out doing certain maintenance and any building work, so I guess that's where the motivation stems from. The degree aspect was very appealing to me and it has given me not just practical experience but also greater knowledge of the industry.”

Recently named a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer at the National Apprenticeship Awards, parent company Barratt Developments PLC has pledged to take on a further 1,100 apprentices, graduates and trainees over the next three years.
