Leading homebuilder David Wilson Homes Mercia has started work on a new luxury 170 home development on Gospel End Road in Sedgley called Baggeridge Village, underpinning almost 350 new jobs and investment to the area.
The exclusive development, which is anticipated to open in March 2015, is being built on the former site of Baggeridge Brickworks, once owned by the Earls of Dudley before being sold to its largest competitor Wienerberger in 2007.
Steve Barton, Senior Sales Manager at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said; “Baggeridge Village will provide an attractive new destination putting this disused site back to good use to the benefit of the local community, with high quality homes as well as numerous green open spaces and neighbourhood facilities.
As part of the planning consent, which was granted in August 2014, David Wilson Homes Mercia is to contribute financially towards local transport infrastructure in addition to providing open green space, sports playing pitches, a nature conservation area, maintenance of play areas and the extension of Baggeridge Country Park.
Steve continued; “We strongly believe that community development is one of the most important aspects of any new housing development and we hope that our work here will go a long way towards improving the lives of people who live in the local area.”
Baggeridge Village will provide a mixture of contemporary and traditional styles with property sizes of two, three, four and five bedrooms.
The development is located in a semi-rural area surrounded by open countryside and Baggeridge Country Park. Just one mile from the village of Sedgley and sitting in between Wolverhampton and Dudley, the development will enjoy easy access to a great range of shops at the Wulfrun Shopping Centre and the popular Merry Hill Shopping Centre. Commuters can benefit from excellent links to the M5 and M54 motorways.
David Wilson Homes Mercia is building quality homes throughout Birmingham, Oxfordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire.
