Chertsey: The Educated Choice for Home Buyers

Across the UK, one in four parents did not receive their school of choice for their children according to the LEA for this coming September (Local Education Authority). It is therefore understandable that parents are prepared to pay, on average, 18% more than the asking price for a home near great schools, according to Rightmove [1]. In Chertsey, however, it is possible for parents to get the best of both worlds as Bellway Homes' new Chertsey Halt development offers good value family homes in a prime location for schools. Indeed, Foxtons found that the average property price in Chertsey is 36.9% lower than the London average [2]. For a select number of properties, Help-To-Buy and Part Exchange are available, making the homes even more appealing for prospective buyers.

Chertsey Halt is situated near a number of 'good' and 'outstanding' primary and secondary schools, and offers a range of three and four-bedroom family houses. Built to fit in with the leafy, peaceful surroundings, residents can enjoy landscaped grounds and a natural play area for children.

'The Eden' is one of Chertsey Halt's remaining four-bedroom house that showcases a sophisticated, modern interior. Designed with family living in mind, the house offers a spacious open-plan living, kitchen and dining area, a study, off-street parking, one en suite bathroom plus two family bathrooms. Contemporary features include a fitted wardrobe, integrated appliances and French doors that open onto a private garden.

Zoe Dobbs, Sales Manager for Bellway Homes North London, comments: “We understand how important it is for parents to live in close proximity to a selection of great schools. We are so pleased that our Chertsey Halt development is giving families the opportunity to live in a thriving area. With its acres of green space and community-feel, Chertsey really is a fantastic place to raise a family. We would urge anyone interested to get in touch now to avoid disappointment.”

Well-regarded schools nearby for younger children include St Anne's Catholic Primary School and Meadowcroft Community Infant School. For older students, Salesian School and Jubilee High School are commended. Richmond-upon-Thames College caters for post-16s with a range of academic courses, apprenticeships and higher education programmes.

The homes are conveniently located a six-minute drive from Guildford Street, where a range of independent shops, restaurants, cafés and bars can be found. For a more extensive shopping experience, residents can reach Staines and Weybridge in around 10 minutes by car. Children who love the great outdoors will enjoy Chertsey Meads – a nine-minute drive away – with its 175 acres of wildflower meadows, walking trails, cycle routes, picnic and play areas. Other local family favourites include Gogmore Farm Park, Chertsey Recreation Ground and Ottershaw Memorial Fields.

The development benefits from excellent transport connections to nearby towns and the capital. Chertsey Railway Station is a short walk away and runs frequent services to central London. By road, the homes can be reached via the M3 and the M25. For frequent fliers, Heathrow Airport is a 14-minute drive away.

Prices start at £499,995 for a three-bedroom house, and £599,995 for a four-bedroom house. For further information or to register your interest, please visit www.bellway.co.uk or call 0333 202 5148.
