Family Use Help to Buy Scheme for a Smooth Move in Godmanchester

Barratt Homes

After using the Help to Buy scheme, a family of four are now settling into their dream home at Barratt Homes' Romans' Edge development in Godmanchester.

Williams Asare (50) and Patricia Konadu (33) and their two children, Williams (4) and Dominic (1) are now residents at the beautiful Cambridgeshire development surrounded by countryside.

Williams said: “Before the move, we were living in a one bedroom home and it was so crowded, we needed to upsize.

“We cut down our usual spending and holidays and used the Help to Buy Scheme which also assisted us to get our dream home as the deposit was more manageable.”

The Help to Buy scheme is open to both first-time buyers and existing homeowners on properties up to the value of £600,000.

The scheme helps you to buy a home with an equity loan of up to 20% of the full price of the property and just a 5% deposit. You won't have to pay any interest charges on this loan for the first five years.

Williams, added: “We chose a new home because the look pristine, there's no need to think of repairs and they are also built to help save energy which is saving us money too.

“The entire home is brilliant and we love coming home, my wife absolutely loves the bright kitchen.”

Barratt Homes prides itself on creating spaces for the whole family with open plan kitchens with dining and family areas designed to be the heart of the home.

Patricia said: “We chose to buy with Barratt Homes because of how the Sales Advisers and the Site Manager welcomed us on our first visit to Romans' Edge.

“As first time buyers we didn't know much about the whole purchasing process and they made it so easy for us with all of the information and help that they gave us.”

The family had a great moving experience with Barratt Homes and have already told their fellow church members about the homebuilder.

Patricia continued: “Purchasing with Barratt Homes was amazing; they had the time and patience to deal with all of our questions and needs.

“Also, moving in was magic, the Sales Team were continuously visiting to check on us and make sure that we were fully settled, they couldn't have done enough for us.”

Located on the edge of the picturesque town of Godmanchester, Romans' Edge offers a collection of four and five bedroom homes.

The development offers residents the chance to live in a beautiful county location within a historical part of the county.

Families can enjoy the nearby countryside with plenty of walks with the nearby River Great Ouse and plenty of scenic routes to enjoy or visit the town of Godmanchester where there is a range of great amenities.

There are plenty of schemes house hunters can use to help them when reserving a property at a Barratt Homes development, including Help to Buy, Part Exchange and Movemaker, all designed to make the moving process that much simpler for buyers.
