The first homes have been sold at Countryside Properties’ stylish new community of Great Kneighton, Trumpington in Cambridge. The homes form part of ‘Novo’, which offers customers a selection of contemporary two bedroom mews houses, four bedroom family homes and one and two bedroom apartments. The homes are perfectly located with a range of transport connections nearby, yet all are set within close proximity of a new 120 acre country park.
Along with the contemporary architecture, the green space is the most prominent feature at Novo. With two parks, both with play areas, within the development, Novo really is a ‘parkland delight’ for residents. The architecture is distinctive too. The Domus apartment building features a stepped, angular façade with flush, full-height windows and glass balconies creating a strong, modern look. The houses combine natural materials with contemporary details, stone-coloured brickwork, weather boarding and natural slate roofs, contrasted with copper-clad front porches and areas of full-height glazing.
Great Kneighton is a sensitively designed urban quarter for the village of Trumpington with an extensive range of proposed amenities including schools, shops, a health centre and a library. It will comprise a series of vibrant neighbourhoods that will form an integrated community, perfect for both first time buyers and growing families, all set in an attractive green landscape centred around a country park. Over four times the size of the open space in the centre of Cambridge known as Parker’s Piece, the Great Kneighton country park will provide the local community with wetlands, a bird reserve, allotments, an adventure playground, extensive woodlands and sports facilities for the planned secondary school.
Ian Hepworth, Sales and Marketing Director at Countryside Properties, commented: “Great Kneighton offers home owners the chance to lead an enviable lifestyle near to plenty of green open space, with the added benefit of being just minutes from Cambridge’s city centre. The new homes available at Novo are just the beginning of the growing and flourishing Great Kneighton community, which is already proving to be an extremely popular choice for home buyers.”
Great Kneighton is set to become an environmentally-friendly community that encourages greener modes of transport while also protecting and enhancing the existing natural habitat. It offers easily accessible cycle stores, cycleways and footpaths. Allotments and areas of wetland with balancing ponds and sustainable urban drainage systems, used for harvesting rainwater, will contribute to the site’s biodiversity. All properties incorporate energy saving appliances with eco-friendly features including either solar thermal or photovoltaic panels fitted on the roofs.
Great Kneighton is perfectly situated to make the most of the Cambridge lifestyle with its notable mix of independent shops, cafes and bars, as well as its obvious educational heritage. Travel links are excellent too with the nearby Guided Busway offering connections to the city centre in approximately 20 minutes. Cambridge train station offers fast and frequent services to London’s Liverpool Street and King’s Cross as well as to Stansted Airport. Furthermore, the M11 is close by, providing good connections to Stansted and London, while the A14 almost circles Cambridge and gives access to Newmarket, Huntingdon and Norwich.
Prices at Novo start at £220,000. For more information about homes available for sale or to view the show home, please contact the marketing suite on 01223 842 039, email novocambridge@cpplc.com or visit www.novocambridge.com
