Southport Motor Inn Goes to Auction

Ray White Commercial

A prominent freehold motel in the heart of Southport on the Gold Coast is being offered for sale via auction through Ray White Commercial Robina.

Earls Court Motor Inn located at 131-133 Nerang Street, Southport, is being marketed by Greg Watson of Ray White Commercial Robina.

Mr Watson said the 2,027 sqm site featured two buildings comprising both motel rooms and self-contained apartments.

“Building one features 23 motel rooms, a reception area plus a manager's residence,” he said.

“Building two houses 12 one-bedroom self-contained apartments and three two-bedroom self-contained apartments.

“Both buildings are constructed from masonry block work and suspended concrete slabs.

“The property has approximately 21 metres of Nerang Street frontage and also comes equipped with 35 basement car spaces.”

Mr Watson said the motel was currently run by onsite managers and generated a substantial income due to the motel's popularity and strategic position in Southport.

He said the site was located within walking distance of Southport Central, Broad-water, China Town and Medical Centres.

“The Light Rail is at the front door, providing an easy commute to the new University Hospital and Surfers Paradise.”

Mr Watson said the property would be sold with vacant possession complete with all furniture, fixtures and fittings required to continue operation.

“Properties like this one are hard to come by in the Gold Coast city area, so we are anticipating quite a bit of interest in this particular property and urge all potential buyers to register their interest to avoid disappointment,” he said.

The property will be auctioned at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, Broadbeach, at 11am (AEST) on Tuesday, December 9, 2014.
