A World Of Opportunities In Nottingham

Vision Nottingham

Nottingham is this week preparing to take its strongest delegation ever to international property show MIPIM.

Nottingham City Council Chief Executive Michael Frater has thanked the business community for its support in showcasing Nottingham and its development potential to the world – the largest global property exhibition of the year, with over 26,000 delegates. He leads Nottingham's largest ever team to attend MIPIM, including a 60-strong delegation of sponsors and partners, all firmly believing in the city and its vision.

Nottingham has changed dramatically since its first visit to MIPIM as a city some four years ago. This year it will showcase its vision for the future with over £3.5bn of investment opportunities on offer, focused on three key regeneration areas – Eastside, Southside and Waterside.

Marc Cole, Chief Executive of Nottingham Regeneration Ltd manages Nottingham's regeneration areas including the city's main catalytic regeneration projects. He'll be heading to MIPIM as part of Team Nottingham for the second time.

Marc Cole said:

“Team Nottingham is planning a big presence at MIPIM. With Nottingham's huge regeneration plans, we know there is massive potential. It is important that we continue to raise our profile and we intend to do this at MIPIM. We want to bring regional, national and international developers and investors to Nottingham to let them experience the excellent opportunities first-hand.”

This year Team Nottingham will point to major developments within the city's burgeoning science and technology sector including over £80m worth of new schemes, as symbols of the city's progress since its last MIPIM visit.

Nottingham's first major event, taking place on Tuesday 11th March over lunchtime will focus on the city's Science City property offer. Delegates attending will learn more about the individual schemes taking shape across the city. These include the University of Nottingham Innovation Park, open this year, offering dedicated research and development facilities and the latest phase of Nottingham Science Park which opens its first landmark building (4,200 sq m) also during 2008.

On Wednesday 12th March, an event to promote Nottingham's ng2 business park, on the edge of the city centre, is being hosted by Nottingham Regeneration Ltd and ng2 developers Miller Birch. ng2 has rapidly established itself as the first port of call for blue-chip occupiers seeking space in the city. HBOS and Experian are among the major occupiers that have taken office space on the park, creating an emerging financial district for the city.

Mark Bielby, Development Director for Miller Birch said:

''ng2 has gone from strength to strength in recent years and this success is set to continue. The extension of the city's tram network will mean that the tram will run through the centre of ng2, forming fast and efficient connections to the railway station, the city centre and with the rest of the city. We're looking forward to promoting ng2 as the location of choice for businesses ranging from small local companies to large corporate occupiers.''

On Thursday 13th March NRL will be launching its 2008/9 Greater Nottingham Property Market Activity Report. The report which is being produced for NRL by leading commercial property advisors CB Richard Ellis examines the current local property market and the changes the city can expect over the next decade.

Team Nottingham is made up of a consortium of sponsors, led by Nottingham City Council and Nottingham Regeneration Ltd, including:

- Chek Whyte Industries - Gleeds - Innes England - Miller Birch - Scott Wilson - Westfield - FHP - Freeth Cartwright - Maber - Walker Morris - Alliance SSP
