Australia's leading owner, operator and manager of retirement communities, Aveo Group (ASX: AOG) is pleased to announce that it has finalised the first of a number of strategic relationships to deliver increased levels of care and support services to residents in its retirement villages.
RDNS Ltd (“RDNS”) through its branded operators RDNS HomeCare and Rally HomeCare has been appointed by Aveo to provide a wide range of in‐home support and healthcare programs to Aveo residents in 22 villages around Australia, including 15 villages in South Australia, one in Tasmania and six villages on the Gold Coast.
RDNS is a non‐government organisation that has provided home nursing and community healthcare services since 1885 and which sees 2,500 staff caring for 15,000 people across Australia each day.
With this appointment, Aveo's stated target of delivering comprehensive low care services to over 90% of its villages by the end of FY14 has now been achieved. This is a key pillar in the Group's strategy to transform to a pure retirement group with increased levels of care and support available to its village residents.
Geoff Grady, Aveo Chief Executive Officer said: “Our strategy is defined by the commitment to grow with older Australians by inspiring greater living choices. Offering increased levels of care to our residents will provide them with greater peace of mind by ensuring they have services available when they need them. While it is still early days, we will continue to focus on meeting the needs of current and future residents with the services they require.”
Underpinning service delivery from RDNS are personalised care and support plans developed in consultation with residents. Each care plan reflects a resident's needs and incorporates a range of RDNS services designed to ensure residents live well. RDNS can also assist residents in accessing financial support for their services where available.
Vicki Sutton, RDNS' Executive General Manager – Corporate Services said: “The feedback from village residents has been extremely positive. Aveo village residents and village staff have embraced the relationship with RDNS and the full spectrum of care and support services provided.
“The relationship between Aveo and RDNS is underpinned by a shared philosophy to support the independence of individuals at home and improving health through the provision of comprehensive care and support services.
Aveo residents can look forward to receiving the healthcare and support services that address their unique needs and keep them living well.”
Aveo will continue to formalise strategic relationships with other service providers and home care partners across its portfolio following the conclusion of various trials that are currently underway. In addition, Aveo is finalising further strategic relationships with a number of aged care providers to provide additional aged care services at selected villages.
