Lioncourt Homes welcomed the CEO of the Future Homes Hub to two of its five-star Worcestershire developments to see first-hand how the award-winning homebuilder is embedding sustainability and nature-led design across its sites.
Ed Lockhart visited Martley Fields in Martley and The Green in Rushwick, before meeting with the team at Lioncourt Homes' Brook Court head office. He was welcomed by Colin Cole, CEO at Lioncourt Homes, alongside members of the company's senior leadership team.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase Lioncourt Homes' ongoing commitment to sustainable initiatives, including its participation in the Homes for Nature programme, the installation of smart technologies required by the Future Homes Standard, and the wider environmental and placemaking strategies being delivered across its developments.
As part of the recently launched Future Homes Standard Ready campaign, Lioncourt Homes is proactively delivering homes designed to meet the next generation of low-carbon regulations ahead of their full introduction.
This includes the integration of low-temperature heating systems, enhanced fabric performance and renewable technologies, ensuring homes are highly energy efficient, fossil fuel-free and require no future retrofit. The approach not only supports the transition to net zero but also provides customers with comfortable, future-proofed homes from day one.
The Future Homes Hub is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that brings together the homebuilding sector, supply chain, government and wider partners to collaborate on meeting the UK's net zero and environmental targets.
Established following the Future Homes Task Force, the Hub supports the industry by developing practical solutions, sharing best practice and helping homebuilders prepare for the regulatory and policy changes shaping the delivery of sustainable new homes and communities.
Martley Fields is an 83-home development located on the edge of the village of Martley. The scheme incorporates a range of sustainability and biodiversity-led features, alongside generous open space and walking routes that connect seamlessly with the surrounding countryside.
The Green in Rushwick features a collection of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes set within a thoughtfully designed landscape. Natural grassland, ponds and green corridors have been created to support local wildlife while enhancing residents' wellbeing.
Throughout the visit, discussions focused on the practical delivery of nature-inclusive design, sustainable drainage systems and ecological enhancements, which are now embedded as standard across Lioncourt Homes' developments. The importance of collaboration between housebuilders and industry bodies in driving best practice across the sector and preparations for the forthcoming Future Homes Standard was also highlighted.
Ed Lockhart, CEO at Future Homes Hub, said: “New homes are rapidly changing to meet higher standards, to be ready for a changing climate and to create high quality natural environments for people and nature.
“Our job at the Future Homes Hub is to support homebuilders of all sizes across the country to make these changes, help the wider 'value chain' and to act as a bridge between the new homes community and government, ensuring new standards work in practice, especially for residents.
“It was hugely inspiring to visit two superb Lioncourt developments that are already incorporating these enhancements, to see first-hand how positively customers are responding and to learn more about Lioncourt's approach to continuous improvement. I am extremely grateful to Colin and colleagues for their willingness to share information, helping the industry to deliver higher quality communities across the country.”
Colin Cole, CEO at Lioncourt Homes, said: “We were delighted to welcome Ed to our head office and to showcase the work being carried out across our developments.
“As a business, we are committed to continually evolving our approach to design, construction and placemaking, ensuring that sustainability and biodiversity are embedded from the outset.
“Working closely with organisations such as the Future Homes Hub enables us to share knowledge, align with best practice and continue raising standards across the homes and communities we deliver.”
In 2025, Lioncourt Homes secured a five-star customer satisfaction rating from the Home Builders Federation (HBF) for the 11th consecutive year, reflecting the company's continued commitment to quality, sustainability and customer care.
