Barratt Manchester has revealed the top three tips on how to prepare your existing home for Part Exchange.
When Part Exchanging, it is important for the owner to get the great value for their property as well as an excellent service. By following these very simple tips, people could really make the most of this popular scheme.
The leading housebuilder is also offering Part Exchange Extra, on properties which are early on in the construction process. This allows the buyer to reserve their new dream home and market their existing property with an estate agent of their choice, with Barratt Homes paying their estate agent fees. If the buyer doesn't manage to sell their home before the roof stage of their new property, Barratt Homes will become the guaranteed buyer.
Dene Trickett, Head of Part Exchange at Barratt Manchester said, “Part Exchanging a property makes the moving process so much easier. By following these simple tips it will help you to showcase the best of your home and enable you to get the best value.
“These tips are especially important for those looking to use Part Exchange Extra, as they will help with your house sale, although for those who are looking to use this scheme, they have the relief of knowing that you can still Part Exchange should your home not sell.”
- Have a spring clean
Before you have your first valuation, make sure to have a clean-up! Show off the house as the best it can possibly be. Making that little bit of effort will really make a difference.
Don't forget the detail either and get around to those annoying little maintenance jobs such as a long overdue light bulb change.
- Give the house a fresh coat of paint!
Give the house a new lease of life with a fresh coat of paint. Pale colours will help to brighten up the rooms and make the house feel light and airy. Making a home attractive to a surveyor doesn't have to mean an expensive décor overhaul.
- De-clutter!
Over time, houses build up with clutter that can be forgotten about and go unnoticed. Make a conscious effort to de-clutter the house to help maximise the space.
A kitchen is a big selling point, so make sure all the worktops are clear and that it smells fresh and clean. If you do have pets, ask a relative or friend to look after them while viewings are taking place.
Following these simple tips may help you to add a few extra pounds on the sale of a home, whether you're using Part Exchange or Part Exchange Extra.
Dene continued, “Part Exchange Extra is a great scheme which goes one step further than the ordinary scheme as we could help you sell your home through an estate agent before purchasing it in Part Exchange.
“You still cut out all of the stress and hassle of selling as we instruct the estate agent for you.”
Barratt Homes currently offers Part Exchange at developments across Derbyshire, including: including Willow Gardens in Tintwistle and Heathfield Nook and High Peak Meadow in Buxton.
